The 30th Annual Training was dedicated in honor of the three Okinawan Teachers whose teachings are being kept alive through the joint efforts of Hanshi Heilman's IKKF and Hanshi Paul's ISMR. They include from left to right: Hanshi Shihan Toma, Seidokan; Hanshi Seikichi Odo, Okinawa Kenpo; and Hanshi Seikichi Uehara, Motobu-ryu. These same three groups were involved in the initial Okinawa Kenpo Renmei established by Shigeru Nakamura and Zenryo Shimabuku.

A highlight of the presentations was the award of the "IKKF Competitor of The Year Award" which was presented to Mr. Greg Holmes in recognition of his excellent competitive record in presenting our IKKF Kobudo at National and International Tournaments. The recognition was presented by his buddy Steve Baer - we are not quite sure what the significane of the "embrace" was as we thought a "fist bump" would have been sufficient :-).

Sunday morning also saw a little friendly sparring session between Kyoshi Cassandra Shults and Hanshi Heilman. Kyoshi Shults has a "groin seeking front kick" that she enjoys trying to and is quite successful at executing against her opponents. A great way to start the morning off!!

The 30th Annual Training was another great training opportunity for all who attended. It was great to be back at the Inn at Reading as the venue for the training as we had sufficient space to hold multiple sessions and to be able to work our weapons without problems - and we have a lot of weapons in the IKKF Program. Mr. and Mrs. Heilman again thank all of our excellent Guest Instructors who gave of their time to share their knowledge with our IKKF members permitting the Heilman's to carry on the multi-style Gasshuku concept started so long ago by Nakamura and Shimabuku with the Okinawa Kenpo Renmei and kept alive via the IKKF Training Seminars.
