The Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo Koryu Kan system taught by the IKKF includes a total of 51 kata: 21 open hand and 30 weapons kata.
IKKF Karate & Kobudo Katas
The IKKF open hand katas trace their lineage from the Shuri-te and Naha-te orthodox systems, as passed down to us today by Shigeru Nakamura and Seikichi Odo.
The IKKF weapon katas have their roots from some of the greatest Kobudo Masters in Okinawa (Mitsuo Kakazu, Seike Toma, Shinko Matayoshi, and Kenko Nakaima). Weapons taught include: bo, sai, tunfa, nunchaku, kama, tekkos, eiku, nunte sai, nunte bo, yari, tinbe & rochin.
