The IKKF grants ranks at both the Kyu and Dan Level. This section presents the Kyu / Dan Belt Structure as well as the Minimum Rank Requirements for the Karate and Kobudo Divisions.
IKKF Kyu / Dan Belt Structure
In Okinawa, many of the older Masters still utilize a six (6) Kyu Belt Structure. Throughout the rest of the world, an 8 or 10 kyu system is generally standard.
The IKKF ranking structure is based upon the use of a ten (10) Kyu system. The Kyu levels are divided into: White, Green and Brown Belt groupings. Dan Levels all use the black obi or formal obi as designated below:
IKKF Karate-Kobudo Division Minimum Requirements
The Minimum Kata Requirements for the IKKF Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo Koryu Kan Division are listed below. It should be noted that to be eligable for testing for Shodan Level Certification the individual must have been an active member of the IKKF for a period of three years.

The Minimum Kata Requirements for the IKKF Kobudo Division are listed below. It should be noted that to be elibible for Yudansha Level Kobudo Certification an individual has to have achieved their Shodan in Karate, Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do or Kung Fu or equivalent arts and must have been an active member of the IKKF for a minimum of two years.
